Shino Yamazaki

Shino Yamasaki

 

Shino Yamasaki (1992-) is a choral conducting 4th-grade student at Latvian Academy of Music and professional choral singer of the Riga Chamber Choir AVE SOL.
She has numerous interests and experiences performing choral music written by composers all over the world.

S. Yamasaki graduated from Shimane University in Japan with a Music and Mathematics education diploma in 2016. During her studies in Japan, S. Yamasaki started to study choral conducting with Chifuru Matsubara in 2014. Since 2017, she is learning choral conducting with Andris Veismanis in the Bachelor’s Programme of Choir Conducting at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in Riga.
 

 As a conductor, S. Yamasaki has experience working as a music director and conductor of Latvian Girls’ Choir UNDA (2019-2020). She also has collaborated with JCA National Youth Choir (2019), and Hiroshima Youth Choir (2015). She worked with Latvian Radio Choir and the Riga Chamber Choir AVE SOL as an instructor of Japanese music singing pronunciation and interpretation.  

She participated in masterclasses under Kaspars Putniņš, Cecilia Rydinger and Erik Westberg. In this context she worked with choirs such as Orphei Drangär ensemble, Camerata Musica Limburg, and Erik Westberg Vocal Ensemble. 

 

As a choral singer, she has been performing with the Riga Chamber Choir AVE SOL  since 2017, and she started to work as an official member of the choir in 2020. And she was also a singer in Youth Choir Kamēr… (2017-2019), the Elizabeth Singers (associate member, 2014-2017), Japan Chamber Choir (2014-2017), Noema Noesis(2014-2017), and several choirs.
  Besides, she participated in numerous auditioned project choirs to encounter wider repertories, such as World Youth Choir (2012), Asia Pacific Youth Choir (2014), JCA (Japan Choral Association) National Youth Choir (2012, 2014-2017, 2019).
